Research Abstract |
A computer aided desktop experimental system was configured and used to discuss a new concept operating system for battery powered multipurpose agricultural machinery. The system was designed based on the concept that human interface should be emphasized on communication between man and machine. In order to realize human friendly machine and operation system, nonverbal and verbal interface including sight line, gesture, and voice were investigated instead ofhaptic input devices such as hand levers, foot pedals and steering wheel. The laboratory experimental system consists mainly of actuators, input devices, control system and data acquistion system. Four brushless DC motors were used to simulate two wheels of walking tractor and two working implements. Motor's load was changed by 4 electromagnetic particle brakes respectively. Field test vehicles, two wheels type tractor and four wheels one, were designed to discuss the interaction between operator and the system in working. On the basis of a motion analysis of input operation of power tiller, we showed the algorithm of sight line input with other decisive motion to operate the system safely and firmly.
