Research Abstract |
A strain isolated from zoea larvae of kuruma prawn (Penaeus japonicus) and two strains isolate from a egg and a mysis larvae of greasyback shrimp (Metapenaeus ensis) were examined detailed to make an identification. The isolation was made by inoculating whole of affected organism onto PYGS agar and incubaing at 20゚C.For inhibition of bacterial growth, the addition of 50mug/ml each of streptomycin sulphate and ampicillin to the medium was required. For morphological observation, the strains were incubated in PYGS broth at 25゚C for three days to grow mycelia. The mycelia were then washed twice with sterilized artificial seawater and incubated at 25゚C to induce zoospore formation. As the results, all isolates were classified into the fungi of the genus Haliphthoros from the characteristic of the fragment formations. And two isolates and the rest were identified as H.milfordensis and a new species of the genus. H.hirosimaensis, respectively. Each one strain isolated from kuruma prawn and greasyback shrimp was made to identify by same method. They were classified into the genus Halocrusticida from the characteristic of gemmae production and so on. And each isolate from kuruma prawn and greasyback shrimp was identifies as H.panulirata and H.parasitica, respectively. Additionally, some physiological characteristics of the isolates were examined.
