| Research Abstract |
健常者およびシェ-グレン症候群(SS)患者の唾液腺におけるtransforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1)の局在について検討を行った。6人の健常者、11人の唾石症、粘液襄胞または急性化膿性唾液腺炎を伴った患者の口唇腺を対照とし、病理診断のfocus scoreが2以上の12人のシェ-グレン症候群患者の口唇腺生検材料を用いた。方法は生検材料をO. C. T. compoundで包埋し凍結切片を作成し、抗TGF-β1抗体を用いて、免疫組織学検討を行った。6人の正常唾液腺においては全ての唾液腺組織の導管上皮細胞にTGF-β1の発現が認められた。また11人の炎症性唾液腺においては8人の唾液腺組織の導管上皮細胞にTGF-β1の発現が認められた。それに対して、12人のSS患者唾液腺においては2人にのみわずかな発現が認められた。また周囲にCD4_+CD45 RO_+陽性T細胞が浸潤しているHLA-DR陽性の導管上皮細胞にはTGF-β1の発現は認められなかった。このことよりTGF-β1は正常および炎症性唾液腺の腺上皮の機能の維持に重要な役割を担っていることが考えられ、SS患者唾液腺におけるTGF-β1分泌異常は腺組織の障害を招く可能性が示唆された。
