| Research Abstract |
本年度は,パターン言語族の学習可能性について研究を行った.この分野の重要な研究結果として,LangeとWiehagenによって1991年に導入されたパターン言語学習アルゴリズムがあるが,我々は,このアルゴリズムに対する平均的計算量を考慮した学習モデルを提案した.このモデルを用いることによって,アルゴリズムが仮説を収束させるまでの挙動に関する以下の様な解析を行うことが可能になった。
1.アルゴリズムが現在出力している仮説を変更する際の条件.
2.仮説を変更する条件の出現頻度.
3.仮説を変更することのその正確さに対する影響.
4.仮説を収束させるまでに必要とする例題の予想数.
LangeとWiehagenによるアルゴリズムでは,A={0,1,…}を任意のアルファベットの集合としたとき,k個の異なる変数をもつパターンπに対して,全計算時間は,最良の場合でも最悪の場合でもO(log(|A|+k)|π|^2)時間かかることが知られている.この結果に対して,我々は,アルゴリズムの平均的動作の解析を行うことによって,全計算時間の予測を推定できるようにした.具体的な例として,LangeとWiehagenによるアルゴリズムを用いて解析を行った所,全予測計算時間は,O(2^kk^2(|A||π|^2 log(k|A|))時間がかかることが解った.
本研究で提案した解析手法は,質問による学習可能性や良質な例題による学習可能性などの他のパターン言語学習モデルに関する適用を行なうことができる.また,本研究の際に開発された技術を用いることによって,他のパターン言語学習アルゴリズムの拡張やブール型概念の推論に応用を行なうことも可能である。
