1. Magnetic suspension of a pellet (1) An active damper using optical force has been developed to damp horizontal vibration of a pellet. By analysis of the optical force, we found it is the resultant of radiometric force and photon force in the pressure range from 10^<-3> to 10^5 Pa. The decay time constant of horizontal vibration was effectively decreased down to 1/10. 2. Fabrication and characterization of the pellet (1) Metal coat is necessary to fabricate a multi-layred pellet. By using of laser-ablation-coat, we obtained a prospect of low temperature Ni coating uniformly for plastic microballoon. (2) By the application of electrodynamic levitation, the mass of a pellet was determined within 0.2 mug error. (3) A spectrophotometry for determining metal thickness of a laser-fusion pellet is applied. The technique enabled one to determine Ni-coat-thickness within 5% error. 3. Electrodynamic levitation of the pellet (1) For laser irradiation, rig electrodes were newly developed. We could extremely enlarge laser irradiation solid angle up to 85 % from 25%. 4. Uniform implosion (1) By the combination of these research results, we could have a prospect of complete removal of low mode implosion-nonuniformity.
