| Research Abstract |
チベット高原南部周縁地域における高等植物種の多様性と系統分化の解析を行なうために、初年度にあたる本年度は、チベット高原南部周縁地域の東端にあたる中国横断山脈にて、7月から8月に現地調査を行なった。
1 以下の分類群について、葉緑体DNA抽出用の資料の採取ならびに形態解析、染色体解析のための資料の採取と証拠標本の作成を行い、これまでに以下の成果を得た。
(1)Saxifraga:S.pallida群で、未知の6倍体の存在が明らかになり、形態の解析も行った。S.melanocentra群では、8または10倍体のみがヒマラヤに分布するが、この地域に2倍体が存在することが明らかになった。(2)Potentilla:特にP.festiva群について、倍数性の観察を行った結果、ネパール・ヒマラヤとは異なる多様性が明らかになった。(3)Juncus:形態および染色体の多様性と高度分布について解析を行い、関連性を明らかにした。(4)Impatiens:ヒマラヤ要素の形態的多様性を明らかにした。また、この地域とネパール・ヒマラヤにおける形態的多様性および染色体の多様性を比較検討した。
2 氷河後退と植物相の変化の解析
北半球の垂直的森林限界は一般に針葉樹によって形成されるが、この地域にはQuercus属による特異な森林限界が存在する。このタイプの森林限界は南向き斜面に限ってのみ出現することを明らかにし、そのようなQuercus林を植物社会学的手法によって記載した。
3 微地形変化にともなう植生と植物相の変化の解析
チベット高原南部周縁地域における斜面植生の分布様式を比較するための資料を得た。
