| Research Abstract |
ボルネオ島の北緯6度に位置する標高4101mのキナバル山において、標高600mの低地フタバガキ林から、標高1200m-2800mにかけてのブナ科樹木の卓越する熱帯山地林、標高2800m-3400mの亜高山林、標高3600mの森林限界までの湿潤熱帯山地の標高傾度に沿ってプロットを設定し、主要樹種について調査木を選定し、葉の挙動を調査した。
1 1996年度は調査木について3回の繰り返し観察を行った。これよりおおまかに葉の寿命を推定することができた。これによるとMacaranga,Mallotus,Ficus,Rubus等の種では葉の寿命は1年以下と推定された。これより熱帯林でも葉の寿命が短いものが存在するという予測は検証された。
2 上記標高傾度に沿って8プロットを設置した。
3 各プロット内にリタートラップを10-20個設置した。回収は2週間に1度行い、内容物の重量測定を行っている。
