Research Abstract

(1)不安定微細分散相を含む金属間化合物の組織安定性と超塑性変形挙動、特に転位の振る舞いと組織安定性が関与した異常伸びの発現、(2)高速超塑性における粒界予融解ならびにキャビテーションの役割、(3)アモルファス合金の液体過冷却域での新しい超粘塑性挙動とこれを利用しての加工・成形技術の開発に関して、新たな進展が見られた。特筆すべき成果は次の通りである。
(a)TiAl単結晶中にはAl_5Ti_3ならびにAl_2Ti等の微細化合物相が存在する。Al_5Ti_3相を含有する場合は超塑性は発現しない。しかし、Al_2Tiが高温で微細に分散すると、この化合物の熱的・力学的安定性と転位運動の相互作用の結果として結晶粒界すべりを伴うことなく超塑性が発現する。
(b)高速超塑性において粒界近傍に存在する液相の形態が極めて重要であり、超塑性発現のためには数10nmオーダー以下の液相が必要とされる。
(c)Zr_<65>Al_<10>Ni_<10>Cu_<15>金属ガラスは過冷液体状態においてアモルファス相を保有しつつ複数形状への加工が可能である。この条件下で1nm/sに近い高速での加工が可能で、結晶化を抑制して1000mm級の加工材の作成が可能となった。また、押し出しの圧力とラム速度、変形温度との構成方程式を決定した。
(d)MA法で作成したAl基合金の変形において、高速超塑性が顕著な領域ではキャビティの発生が抑制される。このような条件下では、キャビティの寸法は数10nmと極めて小さく、このキャビテーションそれ自体が変形中の局所応力集中の緩和をもたらし、巨大伸びを生み出す。
