Research Abstract	本研究では,情動と思考のメカニズムを解明するため,脳内の注意,認知,記憶,学習,運動系の核機能システムが,如何にダイナミックにコヒーレントになり,思考・情動の"流れ"が脳内に形成されるのか,その作動原理を明らかにするための基礎的研究を実施することを目的としている。実験系からは,小野は,ラット視床背内側核の情動発現および運動学習における役割を,澤口は,サル前頭葉の作動記憶および異種感覚情報の統合における役割をニューロンレベルで明らかにした。岩田は,相貌失認患者の弁別閾を測定するための神経心理学的検査法を確立した。下条は,心理物理学的アプローチにより,再認家庭における記憶の確信度と呈示刺激に対する高感度との間に正の相関関係があることを報告した。理論(計算論的神経科学)系からは,倉田は,自己組織化による多重脳マップ形成モデルを,森田は,側抑制による時系列パターンの想起速度の制御方法および軌道アトラクタを用いた時系列パターンの認知モデルを構築した。安西は,遅延見本合わせ課題遂行中のラット聴覚野および海馬体ニューロンの同時記録を行なった。また,ロボットに情動を組み込むことにより,より自律的な行動制御ができるこを明らかにした。今後は,これら神経生理学的,ならびに神経心理学的手法により,生物学的な作動原理を明らかにするとともに,計算論的にその作動原理のグローバルな実現,すなわち統一のとれた一つの脳として,脳の各モジュールがどのように機能しているかその可能性を明らかにしていく予定である。
