| Research Abstract |
視覚系の物体認識に伴う統合・結合の様式はきわめて巧妙で単一知覚の印象が堅固なため、普通の状況下では、その統合様式は調べがたい。しかし、ある種の刺激条件では、一つの物体への統合が崩壊し、局所的な情報や多属性の特徴のもつ異なる特性が露呈し、別の物体に属するものとして、知覚が分離されることがある。また、逆に、分離したものが単一のものとして結びつくことがある。本研究は、このような異物体-同一物体の切り替えが生じる臨界条件を体系的・組織的に測定することにより、物体の認識に伴う局所的・多次元的情報の統合過程を明らかにすることを目的とした.
1 運動刺激による静止図形境界線の捕捉
白色背景と等輝度の黄色の図形(長方形)に、正弦波状の黒色輪郭をもった線図形を重畳すると、長方形図形は正弦波状の黒い正弦波の縁を持った図形に変形して見える。このような輝度輪郭情報による色境界情報の修飾効果を分析し、「輝度輪郭情報による色境界情報の修飾効果が、静止色図形と運動図形の間にも生じること、運動刺激による修飾効果は極めて大きいこと」を明らかにした。
2 主観的輪郭線形成における局所情報の保持
4つのパックマンからなるカニッツア型の主観的輪郭線図形を、対角線要素を1対とする2つの要素図形に分け、要素図形を継時的に提示すると、主観的輪郭線の印象は、SOAの大きさとともに弱くなる。ここでは、SOAと主観的輪郭線の強さの関係を測定することによって局所情報の時間的統合過程を検討し、「主観的輪郭線形成には、局所情報の保持機構が不可欠である。主観的輪郭線は、保持された局所情報の統合によって形成される」ことを明らかにした。
