Research Abstract

研究代表者および研究分担者は、生物の保有する様々なDNA修復系と、その欠損によってもたらされる病態について、分子から個体までの巾広いレベルで解明するために、以下の3つに分類される研究を協力して進めた。
1) DNA除去修復機構とその修復欠損の分子病態
2) DNA相同組換えと組換え修復の普遍的機構
3) 突然変異の分子病態
総括班としては、上記の研究が円滑に進展するよう、下記の活動を行った。
1) 拠点研究室に予算を重点的に配分し、研究の一層の進展に努めた。
2) サーキュラーを2回発行し、また全体班会議、第2班班会議、第1・3班合同班会議を開催して研究者間の速やかな情報交換を行った。
3) 「遺伝的組換えとその制御」ワークショップ、"Workshop on DNA Repair,Recombination and Mutagenesis 1999"の2つの集会を共催し、研究者の交流をはかるとともに、新しい研究者の参加の場を作った。
4) 総括班会議を開催し、主として本特定領域外で研究されている総括班員から、研究成果の評価、研究に対する助言・提言などを頂いた。
5) 海外で開催された著名な研究集会に参加・発表し、情報交換を行うとともに、当該分野で活躍している外国人研究者をわが国へ招待し、最新の知見を得た。
