Research Abstract

The research, which organized the result of Scientific Research on Priority Areas "Genome Science" from Heisei 2 to 12 and was announced, aims at developing Japanese Genome analysis into new phase. We took three items up, "Structural] Analysis of Human Genome", "Functional Genomics", and "Genome Biological Information", organized each results, and showed their prospects in the symposium.
The plan of the symposium was decided in the meeting of our group that is the standard-bearer of Human Genome Project by the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports, and Culture of Japan. It is very : important for the whole field of Bioscience, especially for the development of medical research of disease, so that it can be said that its'social significance, necessity, and emergency are big.
