Research Abstract |
1. An atomic force microscope was applied to observation of insect viruses. Various methods for sample preparation were examined and an easy and rapid preparation of nuclear polyhedrosis virus was developed. 2. The proteins that appeared in the silkworm after infection of densonucleosis virus were analyzed and expression of them was revealed to be specific to the virus infection though they were uncoded to the virus genome. 3. Transcription products of densonucleosis were analyzed after developing a new method with recombination of their ORF and baculovirus vector. 4. Relationships between entomopox virus and parasitic insects in a host insect were examined and it was shown that virus infection affected on development of the parasitic insect. 5. An assay system of cell growth factors in the silkworm hemolymph that was based on in vitro cultivation of wing discs was established. 6. Genes of cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus were expressed in the cultivated cells with using baculovirus vector system and specific antiserum to peptides coded in segment 8th and 9th was prepared for investigation of the virus replication.
