Research Abstract

パプアニューギニアに居住するギデラ族とバロパ族の血液サンプルの分析から,栄養,疾病,遺伝について,それぞれ以下の点を明らかにした。
(1) マラリア抗体価検査からほぼ全員の対象者が感染を受けていると判断されたギデラ族の海岸沿いの村落やバロパ族の各村落で、鉄欠乏を伴わない貧血者が多くみられた。これらの結果は、食物摂取パタンの違いによる鉄栄養状態の違いとマラリア感染率の違いが、これらの地域の貧血者の割合に大きく関連していることを示している。
(2) バロパ族の成人(15歳以上)を対象にB型・C型肝炎及びHTLV-1に関して、抗体及び抗原の検査を行った結果,HBs抗原は、男性が女性より高く、両性とも年齢とともに低下する傾向がみられたが、HBs抗体は、性による差も年齢による差も比較的小さかったこと、HCV-Abの陽性率は男性が女性よりわずかに高く、年齢差もあること、HTLV-Iは、40-49歳以上の群では男女とも10-20%の範囲で類似した陽性率であったが、それより低年齢群では男性が女性より有意に高い陽性率であったこと、がわかった。
(3) 卵型赤血球症を惹起するバンド3欠失型遺伝子には随伴する変異が知られており、随伴変異解析のためのスクリーニング法を確立した。
(4) ギデラ族13村落間の遺伝距離(DA)と地理的距離との相関関係を解析したところ、弱い相関関係が見出され、ギデラ族は地理的に離れた村落同士は遺伝的にも遠い関係にあることが示された。ギデラ族を含む20のオセアニア集団について対応分析を行ったところ、ギデラ族を舎めた非オーストロネシアンは、遺伝的にオーストロネシアンとオーストラリア・アボリジニとの中間に位置することが明らかとなった。また、ギデラ族に特徴的なDRB1^*0802対立遺伝子をオーストロネシアンであるラロトンガ、ニウエの人々も持っいた事実は、パプアニューギニアにおいて、非オーストロネシアンとオーストロネシアンとの間で遺伝的交流が行われたことを示唆している。
さらに,これらの知見を取り入れた新たなシミュレーションを行ったが,結果は解析中である。
