Research Abstract |
When using the magnetization force ((chi=B・)B/mu_0), a magnetic susceptibility (chi) is important. In this work, non magnetic metals whose values of chi are much smaller than those of ferromagnetic materials were used for experiments. Also, the values of chi are large different from one material to others. Furthermore, chi of diamagnetic materials is negative, and also values of chi are different in crystal orientation. In this experiment a metal sample was heated and vaporized in the strong magnetic field, 5.5T by a YAG laser beam. The deposited metal on a glass surface was diffracted by X-ray to study the effect of magnetization force on crystal orientation. The distribution of the magnetic field in a bore of the super conducting magnet was measured. By changing the positions of a substrate and a sampie stage, the characteristics of deposited materials was measured. It is found that the deposition rate can be controlled by changing the intensity of magnetic field and the surface aspect of deposited metal becomes rough in a magnetic field and smooth in a non magnetic field. It is noticed that the strong magnetic field can aligns the crystal orientation of Zn, Bi and Mn films.
