Research Abstract	リーマン面のモデュライ空間の構造について、主として位相幾何学の立場からの研究をおこなった.その中から,従来のものとは本質的に異なる,代数幾何学および整数論との新しい関連が見い出され,今後の研究に待つ課題が多く生じてきた.得られた成果を具体的に記すと,つぎのようになる. 1.以前の研究で得られていた,曲面の写像類群の具体的な群コサイクルの表わすモデュライ空間のコホモロジー類が、すべて知られている安定類の多項式で書けることを証明し,その具体的公式を得た(河澄響矢氏との共同研究). さらに,種数を固定したときのこの公式の退化の様相を詳細に解析することにより,モデュライ空間のコホモロジーに関するFaber予想の一部(1/3)を解決した. 2.曲面の写像類群の部分群であるトレリ群のべき零完備化を決定することは,極めて重要な問題であるが,それに関連してジョンソン準同型と呼ばれる写像について,今までに知られているものとは異なる新しい障害を発見した. 3.リーマン面の族に関する,位相幾何学的な研究が進んだ.とくに,特異ファイバーの回りのモノドロミ-について興味深い結果が得られた. 4.トレリ群の構造と絶対ガロア群の表現との関連について,整数論および位相幾何学の立場からの研究が進み,両者の深い関連が視野に入ってきた.
