Research Abstract

In this research, velocity, temperature fields in snowy cold districts were analyzed using a CFD technique. Spatial distribution of SET^<**> (Standard Effective Temperature) is calculated in order to assess pedestrian comfort from the CFD predictions. It was clarified that 1)revised k-epsilon model can predict the velocity field and temperature field more accurately than does the standard k-epsilon model, 2)Snow is very influential on thermal environment in winter, 3)coupled simulation of radiation and convection is powerful tool for evaluating the outdoor environment.
