Research Abstract |
Subjects were 531 Primary schoolchildren (257 boys and 274 girls) age from 6 to 9 and were measured height, weight, skinfold thickness (Skin caliper, Miko Co Ltd. Tokyo) and impedance (STF-891, Selco Co Ltd. Tokyo) with two-year follow-up. 1. Fat% derived from impedance values had a tendency with decrease each school year and gender. Fat% of girls were higher than that of boys in every school year. 2. In one-year increment of weight) lean body mass and Fat mass from 4th schoolyear to 5th and from 5th to 6th the increase of their weight for boys were corresponded their increase of lean body mass and the increase of their weight for girls were corresponded their increase of Fat mass. 3. The results were suggested that it was able to judgment of the children's obesity from bioelectrical impedance analysis for community but not yet for individual on account of insufficiency formulas to estimate body density and Fat% from impedance values and body density respectively.
