Research Abstract |
In order to clarify the effect of exposure to hand arm vibration, organic solvent and lead on higher fundtion of central nervous system among aged person, event-related potentials including P300 and NO-GO potential (NOGO-P) were measured among 60 patients with vibration syncrome (VS group) and 39 age-matched conttrols, 14 lead-exposed workers (Pb group) and 17 controls and 13 organic solvent-exposed (TX group) workers and 12 controls. Paradigm of task were push-botton to target image in P300 and no-push-botton to it in NOGO-P.P300 latencies of Vs group, Pb group and TX group were significantly prolonged compared with those of controls (p=0.002, p=0.0001, p=0.0006, respectively). NOGO-P latencies of VS groupp and TX group were significantly prolonged compared with those of controls (p-0.004, p=0.0034, respectively). These findings suggest that these hazardous factors affect on higher function of central nervous system of aged person.
