Research Abstract |
1.Glaciers had not formed typical landforms such as the terminal moraine ridge at the marginal position. 2.Typical lodgement till and deformation tills were found at some localities. 3.A lodgement till had covered the angular gravels intercalating the marker tephras of Toya and RP-3. Therefor the glacier had already advanced to the almost maximum position at around 60 ka. 4.The older till was found to be underlain by the angular gravels. Therefor this till should have associated with the penultimate glaciation. 5.The glacier at the maximum stage of the last glaciation had advanced down to the area of ca. 850m above sea level. 6.A glacial-geomorphological map based on the air-photo interpretation was produced on the high resolution topographical map prepared by the analytical plotter. 7.Inventory of glacial landforms and their sediments were compiled on the basis of field observation.
