Research Abstract |
To verify our hypothesis that the infant's body expresses its will, we research the following themes ; a. The relationships between infant's bodily directions with mother's positions. b. The direction and distance of two infants who stood opposite each other. c. The up-down physical movements of the infant. We found that infant's bodily actions reflect their inner feelings or inclinations. First, we examined a lot of scenes of infant's play at which they wanted to make a relationship with their mothers 3 using the toys as the medium. As a result, we guess when infants are playing, the directions between they and their mothers reflect the inclination infants want to be related and the space sharing with their mothers at that time. Next we observed the space compositions and the movements which infants made by their own body, and examined the expression' of the will. We find that these tendencies. The working of the will is heightened according to the approach, actions like the conversation, and sharing, on the other hand, like the scene of the quarrel or refusal, we notice the strain, sometimes the interception of the space. We conclude that infants faces a companion in the whole body, and there are the inner will. Finally, we considered the meaning which infant's up-down physical movements was suggesting. When infants are playing. we classify their up-down movements as these, stationary conditions active movements, movements with toys. These movements give us some senses of the activity, the energies, and the exaltation We think, this is because the body up-down is expressive actions which reflects infant's inner world directly. From these results, we guess the relations between infant's body and their inner will. This suggests that infant's body express their inner world and we must pay attentions to this kind of bodily expressions, in other word, expressive behaviors.
