Research Abstract |
Our study aims at providing necessary fundamental data to the society to design the social system to support everyday life of aged persons. To attain this aim we have made clear the actual condition and problems of the daily life of the aged persons in Village A where an old age population coefficient exceeds 35.3%, using such methods as repeated interviews, direct observations and question-naires for aged persons and their children. Aged parents are living in the village every day with being carefu1 not to become child's care. They continue to made efforts to live by themselves. Children live in the different area, being always afraid of the parents'life. However, if an aged parent get something disorder in health, very big problems for either children or parent will appear. It is because the children must do parent's care. Aged and sick parents don't like to leave the village and don't like to live urban area where their children are living. In the other hand, it is very hard for children to come back to the village to support their aged and sick parents. It is because there is no job opportunity in the village. It is very hard to solve this situation and various problems appear. The one of the important results of this study is such thinking as "Children must support the daily life of aged parents. This is very natural behavior for children." cant't be unacceptable in the reality. We have to establish the social supporting system for aged persons so as to be able to live in their own house or their own area where they have been living for long time.
