Research Abstract |
China's "Reform and Open door policy" has been widening the various spheres of trade and commerce in southern border regions. The purpose of this reset is to make the aspect of them comprehensible and to get the clue idea for international sociological analysis. We had 6 research groups for covering this wide range, on the one hand are Vietnam-China and Myanmar-China border regions, the other are relations between Thailand and Yunnan province and between China's southern coast cities as Hongkong and Southeast Asian countries. Since political settlement in golden triangle, border regions have appeared and spreads as a symmetrical zone constituted by Human, Goods and Information flow, and regulated by governmental procedures. They have been encouraged by the development of infrastructures in Mekong area promoted by various sctors--Asian Development Bank (ADB), Thailand, and Yunnan province. In contrast with China's coastal cities which has connected with Southeast Asian economies or overseas Chinese through Hongkong as distribution center, they hay not got enough development although this region is endowed with such an incentive for social mobilization like as Mekong river. It largely depends on the stability of political control of Laos and Myanmar.
