| Research Abstract |
二枚貝を生物指標にしてアジアの海洋汚染を明らかにすることが本研究の目的である。平成10年度は以下のような調査を実施し成果を得た。
1)ベトナムとフィリピンの研究者を招へいし、有機塩素化合物や有機スズ化合物など有害物質の生産・利用状況に関する情報を入手するとともに、これまでの分析結果を説明し、論文作成等成果の公表について討議した。また、カンボジアから若干の魚介類試料を入手し、有害物質の化学分析を試みた。
2)平成10年7〜8月にインドネシアで、9月にマレーシアで現地調査を実施し、それぞれ沿岸域7地点および13地点でミドリイガイを採取した。また堆積物や魚介類、鳥類試料も入手した。3)これまでに入手したミドリイガイおよび魚介類の分析では、有機塩素化合物による広域汚染が確認され、熱帯・亜熱帯地域におけるこの種の物質の利用が地球規模の汚染に大きな影響をもたらしていることをあらためて指摘できた。
4)マレーシアのマラッカ海峡沿岸およびインドネシアの都市ジャカルタ沿岸では、石油起源の炭化水素類およびブチルスズ化合物が高濃度で検出された。一方、カンボジアの環境は、きわめて清浄であることが魚介類の分析結果より明らかとなった。
5)このほか、鳥類の試料も捕捉的に研究に供し、インド・フィリピン・ベトナム等熱帯アジアに飛来する渡り鳥は、ここで相当量の有機塩素化合物暴露があることを明らかにできた。また、長期的な汚染の推移など、イガイではみえないモニタリング調査が鳥類で可能となった。
