| Research Abstract |
二枚貝を生物指標にしてアジアの海洋汚染を明らかにすることが本研究の目的である。平成11年度は以下のような調査を実施し成果を得た。
1)香港とロシアの研究者を招へいし、有機塩素化合物や有機スズ化合物など有害物質の生産・利用状況に関する情報を入手するとともに、イガイ試料の採取と日本への持ち込みを依頼し、上記物資の化学分析を試みた。
2)平成11年11月にカンボジアで現地調査を実施し、沿岸域7地点でミドリイガイを採取した。また、堆積物や魚介類、鳥類試料も入手した。
3)これまでに入手したミドリイガイの分析では、有機塩素化合物による広域汚染が確認され、とくに香港産および中国産のイガイは高濃度で汚染されていることが明らかとなり、防疫害虫の駆除に依然として有機塩素系殺虫剤を使用していることが示唆された。
4)また、香港産のイガイは有機スズ化合物の汚染も顕在化していることがわかり、防汚剤としての有機スズの利用が途上国にまで拡がっていることを明らかにできた。
5)しかし有機塩素化合物および有機スズ化合物によるカンボジアの汚染レベルは低く、長い内戦のため経済状態が低迷したことが幸いし、清浄な環境が維持されていることが明らかとなった。外国資本の流入によりカンボジアでは今後経済活動の進展が予想されており、無秩序な開発や化学物質の乱用を防止する提言をカンボジア水産局に報告した。
6)カンボジアおよびフィリピンの土壌試料からダイオキシン類を検出し、この種の強毒性物資による汚染と影響が、途上国でも深刻化していることを示唆した。
