Research Abstract	1. 研究背景:がん遺伝子の発見をきっかけに、がん研究は遺伝子の時代に入り、欧米のがん研究先進国を中心に激しい研究競争を繰り広げている。地理的に隔離されているわが国の研究者は、研究者との直接の討論、情報、資料交換に自ら制限があり、ともすると孤立しかねない。この問題点を克服するため、わが国の第一線の研究者を積極的にがん研究先進国に送る必要がある。本研究は、ヨーロッパのがん研究先進諸国との研究交流を目的に組織された。特に、日独、日仏がんワークショップはそれぞれ一年毎にヨーロッパ本国と日本と場所をかえて行われているが、本年度は日仏をヨーロッパで、日独を日本で開催した。本年度は13名(研究協力者1名を含)をヨーロッパ諸国に派遣した。 2. 日仏がん研究連絡会議:1998年10月6〜9日フランス・パリ、キューリー研究所において「ゲノムの不安定性と発癌」に関する日仏がんワークショップを開催した。わが国から時野隆至(札幌医大・医)、山本雅(東大・医科研)、石川冬木(東工大・生命理工学)、貝淵弘三(奈良先端技術大・バイオサイエンス研)、佐谷秀行(熊本大・医)、押村光雄(研究協力者、鳥取大・医)が本研究費で出席した。 3. 日独がん連絡会議: 1998年11月13〜16日、熊本大学遺伝子実験施設において、「細胞増殖のネガティブコントロール-特にシグナル伝達と細胞周期について」をテーマに日独ワークショップが開催された。ドイツ側から9名、わが国からは黒木登志夫(昭和大・腫瘍分子研)、菊池章(広島大・医)、目加田英輔(久留米大・分子生命研)、宮園浩平(癌研)、村上善則(国立がんセンター・研)、中山敬一(九大・生医研)、佐谷秀行(熊本大・医)、武田俊一(京大・医)、田矢洋一(国立がんセンター・研)、月田承一郎(京大・医)、吉村昭彦(久留米大・分子生命研)、山口直人(熊本大・医)が出席した。 4. その他の派遣者:黒木登志夫(昭和大・腫瘍分子研)日野田裕治(札幌医科大・医)、川尻要(埼玉がんセンター・研)、千田和広(東大・医科研(現農学部))、溝上雅史(名古屋市大・医)、長田啓隆(愛知がんセ・研)、松本英樹(福井医大・医)をヨーロッパの先進研究室に派遣した。
