| Research Abstract |
1) キチン質製材の開発:水溶性キチンの作製を実施した.キチンは生体親和性が高いが、水には不溶であり、その溶媒は強酸である蟻酸しか報告されていない。この不溶性のキチンをカルボキシメチル化、硫酸化、リン酸化して水溶性のキチンを作製した(重政、斎本、指輪).またリン酸キチンについては、低分子化したものも作製した.
2) 水溶性キチンの獣医臨床への応用:これらの水溶性キチンをキトサンによる肺炎のブロッカーとして応用した.これらの水溶性キチンはすべてキトサン肺炎を程度の差はあるがブロックした.しかしその効果はリン酸キチンで最も強く認められた(南、岡本).低分子化したリン酸キチンには肺炎の抑制効果をしましたが、高分子のものと比較して不十分な抑制効果であった.
3) 開発したキチン-不織布複合体を緬羊の鍵修復実験に応用したところ腱の再建が不織布内で.発現することを証明した(Nelson,Stashak,Norrdin,岡本)。さらに、コラーゲンの分析を実施し4型コラーゲンが量産されることを明らかにした。
4) ジョイントセミナーの開催:共同研究の打ち合わせと成績の交換をコロラド州立大学および鳥取大学において公開シンポジュウムの形で実施した(南、岡本、重政、作野、Nelson、Stashak、Norrdin)。
