| Research Abstract |
平成9年度から12年度に行った特定領域研究「神経細胞死とその制御の分子制御」において,ハンチントン病や脊髄小脳変性症に代表されるCAGリピートトリプレットリピート病の発症機構,分子病態,神経細胞死の分子機構について多数の成果を挙げた.
また常染色体性劣性遺伝の家族性パーキンソン病の原因蛋白であるParkinがユビキチンリガーゼの一種であることを明らかにした.またParkinは,Golgi装置を経て軸索輸送小胞に結合し,シナプス小胞に運ばれ,その膜に存在することを明らかにし,パーキンソン病における黒質の変性機序についても多数の成果を挙げた.
また神経細胞死制御についても,アポトーシス関連の新しい蛋白を複数発見し,神経細胞を細胞死から守る研究を推進した.
本年度は,これらの成果をまとめた報告書を作成した.計画班員のみならず,公募班員からも極力研究成果の提出を求め,総勢72名の執筆者からなる報告書を作成した.文部科学省を始め,広く医学系大学・研究機関に配布し,研究成果の広報に努めた.
