Research Abstract

We have been investigating the correlation between dialect geography and the other geographical factors of cultural & natural phenomena in China.
The progress reports were published as following:
No.1, Zavyalova & Astrakhan, The Linguistic Geography of China;
No.2, Susumu Sato, A collection of the four texts of the Fangyan originated from the song Dynasty;
No.3, Collected papers in Chinese dialectology;
No.4, Takashi Matue, Geographical atlas of each items appeared in the Fangyan;
No.5, Ray Iwata, ed. Geographical atlas of Modern Chinese dialects (draft), 3rd volume.
The following reports will be published soon:
No.6, Susumu Sato, Translation and commentary for the 1st volume of the Fangyan;
No, 7, Proceedings of the Symposium on Linguistic Typogeography.
