Research Abstract |
We tried to investigate some problems related to (1)govemance and administration of education coped with residents' needs, (2)relations between a board of education and individual school, (3)organizations and structures of small local school boards, (4)relations between the central government and a prefecture and a local public entity, with a full understanding of transition of Japanese local education system from the era of the post-war educational reform till today and the condition of recent educational reform in European countries and U.S. We designed questionnaire surveys and historical and comparative studies as follows, (1) The study of the establishment of the Japanese rural board of education system, (2) A survey by questionnaire of administrative function of local boards of education, (3) A survey by questionnaire of autonomy and accountability of individual school, (4) The study on the relation between the decentralizing reform in educational administration and emphasizing t
