Research Abstract |
The aim of this research is to clarify the reference system in health behavior. There are two kinds of reference system. One is 'professional reference system'. The other is 'amateur reference system'. In the beginning I planned how I would clarify the relations between two kinds of reference system. And after all I researched only 'amateur reference system' because of limit of time and number of investigators. I put mainly two projects quantitative research. Used method is that of unstructured interview. I had two projects: one is the interview project to handicapped child's families, and the other is the interview project to some persons who experienced disease. I got some findings through analysis of data. The reference system in handicapped child's families is simpler. On the contrary the other's reference system is generally more complex. People's information gathering pattern is various. The variables of latter's reference system are following; environment of the place of residence, term of residence, occupation, education, kind of disease, family structure, relative network, friend network, chance of using mass media, chance of using new media. I found the relative importance of personal information circuit in health behavior.
