| Research Abstract |
今年度は国内2回、国外2回の口頭発表を行った。特にロンドン大学、King's CollegeではLa3amon2000という13世紀韻文年代記の2写本についてのみ議論し合う学会において"Verbs of Motion in MS.Cotton Caligula A.ix and MS.Cotton Otho C.xiii"と題して発表し、その成果はproceedings(King's College London Medieval Studies 17)に掲載が決定している。またスペイン、Santiago de Compostela大学での第11回国際歴史英語学会では"The Variety and Conformity of Old English Psalter Glosses"と題して発表、方言学者のMargaret LaingとPeter Kitsonからのfavourable commentsもあって、English Studiesに掲載が決まっている。この他スペインのJavier Diaz教授からの依頼で執筆した"Words of Emotion in Old and Middle English"も、すでに印刷に入っている。また、オックスフォード大学名誉教授のE.G.Stanley博士からW.F.Boltonの記念論文集(Bucknell Univ.Press,2000)の書評を依頼され、Notes ＆ Queriesに送って、6月号に掲載が決定している。同誌にはすでに送った"Late West Saxon Forms of the Demonstrative Pronouns as Native Prototypes of they"が3月号に掲載される予定になっている。さらにロンドンとスペインの両学会で再会した友人から2001年夏にフィンランドとドイツでの発表を勧められ、abstractsを送付、すでにacceptされている。従ってこれらの口頭発表も本研究の成果の一部となるため、今回の冊子体の成果報告書の中にその内容を記すこととする。
