Research Abstract	研究計画に従い、中桐は2階の非線型発展方程式により記述される分布系に対し基本的な問題である解の存在と一意性をLions流の変分法的取り扱いにより研究した。さらに、この非線型系に対する最適制御問題を研究し、最適性のための必要条件を双対系を用いて完全に記述した。これらの結果は、非線型方程式の場合は新しいものであり、具体的なSine-Gordon方程式、およびKlein-Gordon方程式に適用した。線形の場合もこめて、これらの成果は、アテネで開かれた国際学会で発表され、審査の後下記の雑誌(Nonlinear TMA,FE等)に掲載された。また非線型のSine-Gordon方程式に対し、弱い解の存在と一意性、データに関する連続依存性の問題を調べ、加えて有限要素法を用いた近似解放とその数値解析を行った。これらの成果は、下記のElgamal氏との共同論文に掲載された。次に中桐は線形ではあるが、放物型の分布系に対して部分領域観測によるパラメータの可同定性を研究した。これは逆問題の一種であり、一般の1次元分布系に対して、可同定性のための必要かつ充分条件を求めた。これらの成果は、小倉および韓国で開かれた国際学会で発表され、Proceedingsとして後日出版される予定である。また中桐は、非線型分布系のパラメータ推定問題の研究の現状について、数回の口頭報告を行っている。ついで南部は、下記の論文で境界フィールドバックをもつ楕円型作用素の分数ベキの定義域の特徴ずけを行った。また田畑は、最適性の考えを用いて、疫病の分布的な感染速度を記述するモデルを提出し、それらを含めたモデルに対する統計的な処理方法を調べた。さらに内藤は、非線型楕円型分布系にたいし、正の整関数解の存在と非存在の条件を見出した。両氏のこれらの結果は、下記の論文に発表された。最後に垣内は、以上のモデルに対し検定の問題を考え、統計学的処理についての結果を応用した。
