| Research Abstract |
本年は2年計画の初年度にあたる。本研究の目標は単連結双曲型多様体,例えばPoincare計量を持った単位開円盤,上で擬微分作用素に対するAtiyah-Singer型指数公式を証明することである。研究計画は2つの段階から成り立っている。第一段階では上記多様体上でFredholm指数を持つ擬微分作用素の族を表象で特徴付けることである。第二段階では指数公式を実際に証明することである。
初年度は第一段階を達成することを目標とした。一般の双曲型多様体上での擬微分作用素のスペクトル理論の一般論は無く,第一段階の達成は予備的調査の段階での予想よりはるかに困難なものであった。先ず,双曲線型多様体に関する本研究にとって本質的と思われる諸々の面からの研究成果を取り入れる為,積極的に多くの分野の研究者との議論を重ね,今年度の研究実績としてFredholm指数を持つと予想される擬微分作用素の族を分離することに成功した。実際にFredholm指数を持つことの証明は次年度に持ち越された。
以上述べた様に,当初に予定より遅れてはいるが,本研究の目標そのものの達成は次年度中に可能であると予想される
