| Research Abstract |
組合せ幾何学の中で、特に「点集合の分割と凸多角形の存在性」についての研究を進めている。1996年にDiscrete Mathematicsに発表した論文On a partition into convex polygonsは平面上に与えられた点集合の凸多角形への分割に関するものであり、この論文において私はDisjoint Partition、Empty Partition、General Partitionの3つの新しい分割を定義した。そしてこの論文に関する講演を、1997年8月にカナダのキングストンにあるQueen's Universityで開催されたNinth Canadian Conference on Computatioal Geometryでおこない、多くの研究者とこの問題に関する討論と、関連する問題についての情報交換をおこなった。またこの問題を3次元空間に拡張した論文をComputational Geometry:Theory and Applicationsに投稿し、受理されている。そして1998年1月、東海大学海洋学部の細野氏と共同で、平面のDisjouint Partitionについて新しい結果を得たので、国際誌に投稿した。
また関連する問題として、「与えられたいくつかの点を含む凸多角形の存在性」についての研究を、カナダMcGill UniversityのDavid Avis教授、東海大学海洋学部の細野氏と共同でおこない、1997年12月にメキシコで開催された、Third Joint Meeting of the American Mathematical Society and the Sociedad Matematica Mexicanaで発表した。これは現在投稿準備中である。
現在も様々な応用問題について、研究・討論を重ねており、近く新しい論文を書き上げる予定である。
