Research Abstract

For the development of multi-dimensional stationary phases, I studied molecular imprinting technique and selective surface modification method. On the basis of the above results, the objective stationary phases can be prepared a simple combination of molecular imprinting technique and surface modification method.
For the further study, I prepared a variety of molecularly imprinted stationary phases and studied porous structures from the viewpoints of chemistry as well as liquid chromatog-raphy. In addition, I applied novel temperature-responsive external layer or hydrophulic ex-eternal layer for separation of the target moiety from complicated mixtures.
Finally, I obtained the following results.
1. Porogen imprinting effects was firstly reported. Porogen imprinting realized molecular recognition towards structurally similar compounds.
2. Porogen imprinting also afforded preferential retention towards more toxic compounds such as coplanar PCBs.
3. Direct injection and analysis were realized using molecularly imprinted stationary phases selectively modified with hydrophilic external layer.
