Research Abstract |
1. Weight gain rate, distribution and amount of Be in organs in animals administered Be compound A keen attention is being paid to the involvment of the antigenecity, adjuvanticity and persistencey as tothe in vivo influence of Be. Tnis experiment studies Be distribution in organs as the involvement of persistency and in vivo influence of Be in the aninals administered Be. Results 1) Changes in the body weight : In guinea pigs, no significant difference was found betwteen the Be intrathoracic ahministration group and the control group. The values obtained tended to be low in the intraperitoneal adninisration group. In mice, inhibition of the body weight gain rate was not found. 2) Distribution and mount of Be in organs : In guinea pigs, Be was detected from the lungs of the aninals administered Be intrathoracically. The amount in the lungs was greater in the twice i.ntraperitoneal + once intrathoracic administration group than in the three times intrathoracic administration group. In mice,

Be was detected the most in the liver. 2. On the Natural killer activity in mice administered beryllium compound A Beck solution at 1/100 and 1/200 of LD)_<so> was administered intraperitoneally to mice every other day for a total of five administrations to studv the NK activity and behavior of asialo GM1^+ cell in splenic cells. Results The NK activity decreased significantly, with 43.6 * 4.9 % in the control group, 26.4 * 11.3 % in the 1/200 LD_<so>, administration group and 21.3 * 12.1 % in the 1/100 LD_<so> administration group. Asialo GM1^+ cell decreased significantly in the 1/100 LD_<so> administration group compared with the control group, with 26.8 * 3.9 % in the control group, 24.5 * 0.8 % in the 1/200 LD_<so> administration group and 23.1 * 2.2 % in the 1/100 LD_<so> administration group. The decline in the NK activity with Be administration is suggestive of a decrease in the number of NK cells. 3. sensitizing activity of Be in guinea pigs administered Beryllium Differences in the sensitizing activity of Be were studied using Be-LTT between three groups. namely, the BeSO_4 + Freund' complete adjuvant (FCA) administration group, BeSO_4 + Freund' incomplete adjuvant administration group and BeSO4 administration group. Results The BeBO_4 + FCA administration group showed the strongest sensitizing activity, with the Be-LTT value being 236 * 151 % in the BeSO_4 + FCA administration group, 173 * 76 % in the BeSO_4 + FIA administration group and 12.1 * 44% in the BeSO4 administration group.
