Research Abstract |
Age-hardening behaviors in CuAu-ln alloys were studied by means of electrical resistivity measurements, hardness tests, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Main results are as follows 1 Indium addition in equiatomic CuAu alloy produced remarkable decrease in the critical temperature of CuAu land CuAu II ordered phases and reduced the ordering rate. 2. The ordering in CuAu-ln alloys proceeded in CuAu II phase via aformation of CuAu lphase in the early stage and coexistent state of (CuAu I + CuAu II). CuAu II phase was stabilized by the In addition. 3. Age-hardening was produced in early aging time and maintained for relatively long time. 4. Increase of the axial ratio and decrease of the domain size in CuAu ordered phase were recognized. 5. Indium in CuAu-In alloy was occupied on both sites in CuAu II type superlattice structure.
