Research Abstract |
Using of the satellite remote sensing data is useful for environmental education. We use the satellite remote sensing data in CAI courseware. But the data includes the atmospheric scattering effects in the atmosphere - ground system. In this study we develop the atmospheric correction system. We adopt ADEOS/POLDER data and Landsat/TM data as the educational satellite remote sensing data. ADEOS/POLDER (Polarization and Directionality of Earth Reflectance) sensor, developed by CNES (Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales, France), has collected eight months global data during the ADEOS stiletto's operation period (launched in August, 1996, ended in June 1997). Landsat/TM data is the one of the popular remote sensing data. And we make the materials of environmental education. The materials are CAI courseware and Japanese card game, that is called Karuta. Junior high school students and high school one can be interested in these materials. Students can study the environmental problem through playing our Karuta. The topics of Karuta are collected from newspapers, for example, local newspapers in Japan, etc.
