Research Abstract

本基盤研究C(企画調査)「低次元フェルミ流体系の物理」では,これまでHeに固有の物理として捉えがちであった.低次元量子液体,とりわけ低次元液体^3Heについて,低次元電子物性との間にいかなる共通の,あるいは未知の物理が存在するのか,広く実験家と理論家を交えた研究会を開催して検討することにより,量子液体研究の新しい方向性を探ることをめざした。当初本企画調査研究で取り上げようと計画したのは,つぎの3項目
・狭い間隙に閉じ込めた^3Heおよび吸着^3He薄膜:
超流動転移および超流動状態の位相欠陥と,分数量子ホール効果状態の複合フェルミオンなどの場の量子論に現れる2次元特有な異常性に根差した現象などとの関連。
・単原子層^3He:
2次元固体^3Heの磁性,2次元固相・液相転移および凝集現象,液相での新しい引力機構による超流動転移の可能性と,高温超伝導など強相関低次元電子系物性との関連。
・マイクロ・チヤンネルに閉じ込められた低次元フェルミ粒子系:
1次元等の低次元チヤンネルにおける液体^3Heの挙動と、マイクロ・ポーラス中金属電子状態、朝永・ラッテインジヤ-液体、メゾスコピック現象との関連。
であったが,10月30/31の両日アクトシティ浜松研修交流センターで開催した研究会では,これらの項日に加えて固体物理に現れる低次元電子系の間題へとより対象を広げることとし,固体電子全体を展望する講演(福山・東大理)の他,有機物質(鹿野田・東大工),人工原子・分子(樽茶・NTT)のホットな話題の提供を受けた。また,超流動^3Heと素粒子物理・宇宙論との関連についてへルシンキ大のVolovik氏の招待講演を企画した。以上の各項目について現状と将来を展望するレビュー講演と討論により将来への発展の契機をつかむことができた。と同時に異分野の交流を進めることができたことは一つの収穫である。研究会の成果は報告書としてまとめた。
