Research Abstract

全体的な活動としては、学際的国際シンポジウム「Interdisciplinary Symposium on the Science of Complexity」を開催し(東京、ヤマハホール、6月23・24日)、当研究拠点のメンバーとともに、経済、物理、生物、数学、工学の各分野の第一線の国内外の研究者を招いて、複雑系に関する最先端の研究成果を紹介するとともに、研究交流を行った。シンポジウムにおいては、当拠点の3人のメンバーが、この5年間の拠点における研究の成果を報告した。また、本年度も、ワークショップを定期的に開催して、総合的な共同研究を行っており、ディスカッションペーパーは、平成14年3月までに英文136号、和文10号にのぼっている。以上の研究活動状況の一端は、インターネット上の京都大学経済研究所の複雑系経済学研究拠点のホームページにおいても公開されている。次に、研究班別にみた研究経過を報告する。
マクロ動学研究班:物理学者との共同研究の中で、多数の経済主体の相互依存が内包する、カオス的変動の発生と消滅のメカニズムを解明し、経済の自己組織臨界現象の研究をした。多部門経済と多数均衡の関係、高次元カオスの研究成果をまとめた。日本の人的資本蓄積に関する実証研究を行った。非線形動学の立場から、短期及び長期の内生的経済変動の相互作用のメカニズムを解明した。以上の研究結果については、西村和雄、福田慎一編で、東京大学出版会から、『非線形均衡動学:不決定性と複雑性』のタイトルで、2002年度に出版する予定である。
地域経済研究班:都市経済学研究会を定期的(約月2回)に開催し、国内より20名、海外より9名を招聘し、研究報告が行われ、国内外研究者の研究交流を促進するとともに、研究交流を行ってきた。これらを通じて、藤田は、都市・地域成長、田渕は、地域経済システムの均衡およびその安定性、森は、産業・人口立地における自己組織化・パターン形成に関する研究を進めた。これらの研究成果は、国際地域科学学会(アメリカ・チャールストン)等、国際学会において報告され、CCESディスカッションペーパーで公表された。また、前年度まで成果を含む藤田の研究成果は、Economics of agglomeration(J.-F.Thisseと共著)にまとめられ、Cambridge University Pressより出版予定である。
ゲーム研究班:経済システムにおける複雑系メカニズムのゲーム理論的基礎づけについて前年度からの研究を継続し、複雑系ゲーム理論分析に関わる基礎理論の集大成化を目指した。具体的な研究成果として、集団行動と組織形成の進化ゲームモデルを定式化し、集団行動と組織形成のダイナミックスを分析するための理論的枠組みを構築した。組織の内部構造の比較分析を行い、交渉プロセスの違いや経済主体の期待形成が協力の成立や集団形成に及ぼす影響を明らかにした。また、産業経済への応用として、法と経済の分野における製造物責任の問題を取り上げ、シグナリングゲーム理論を用いて、欠陥商品が発生する可能性がある場合に生産者と消費者がそれぞれどの程度製造物責任を負担するのが社会的に望ましいかを考察した。理論分析では、ゲームの分離均衡の信念の集合を微分方程式の解として定式化し、非線形複雑系システムの存在を示した。最後に、得られた研究成果と他の研究班の研究成果との融合の可能性を討議し、複雑系経済システムの将来の研究課題について考察した。
非線形計量分析班:時間相関、空間相関に同時に考慮した計量モデルに対する検定方法について理論および応用研究を行った。まず多変量時系列において、共和分分析とよばれる、「各成分時系列は非定常な挙動を示しても、その1次結合などに安定的な定常的な関係が見いだせるか」という分析手法について、計量モデルの枠組みを従来のモデルより理論的に一般化した。実際のデータ解析として、空間的に異なる場所で観測される時系列データ、具体的には、原油取引において代表的な世界の3つの市場の価格データに応用し、従来の共和分分析では検出できなかった3つの市場の相互関係を検出できた。次にモデルの型に依存しないノンパラメトリックな、字空間モデルに対する検定統計量を提案し、その斬新的性質の導出およびブートストラップ法による近似の理論的妥当性の証明に取り組んでいる。シミュレーションに基づく予想では、我々の方法は良好であり、様々な実験データへの応用が期待できる。たとえば空間的時間的相関をもつ都市経済データ、各国の経済成長データへの応用が期待できる。
