Research Abstract

これまでのCOE活動の成果を基に、複雑系研究の経済学を中心とした学際的交流拠点として、京都大学経済研究所に「複雑系経済研究センター」(センター長・西村和雄)が、平成16年度に発足することとなった。
本年度も、各研究班が、内外の研究者を招聘しての研究会の定期開催、国内・国際共同研究活動を継続し、複雑系経済システムの研究活動の発展に寄与したほか、研究活動を総括する以下の研究会議を開催した。
「成長、貿易、一般均衡」の国際シンポジウム(2月2・4日、京都)、「京都ゲーム理論ワークショップ」(3月8〜10日、京都)、「経済理論の国際会議」(3月22日・23日、東京)、「ノンパラメトリッス・セミパラメトリック法を用いた統計解析理論とその学際的応用」(3月27・28日、京都)。
各研究班でも、最終年度に当たり、以下のように成果がまとめられた。
1 経済の自己組織臨界現象、多部門経済と多数均衡の関係、高次元カオスの共同研究を英文論文にまとめた。西村が、海外の出版社Kulgerから非線形動学のハンドブックを出版することが具体化した。また、Journal of Difference Equation and Applicationsにゲスト・エディターとして、非線形経済動学と経済理論の特集号を編集した。人間の行動決定の研究について、アンケート調査を始め、実験も行い、研究会を、工学、生物の専門家を交えて開催した。その成果を英文論文として海外の工学系の学術誌に発表した。教育と雇用について、企業を対象とする調査と分析も行った。(マクロ動学研究班)
2 経済集積形成の主要なメカニズムとされる、知識スピルオーバーのミクロ基礎の開発など、これまでの経済集積の基礎理論を深化させる一方、空間経済学の中心的な研究者を集めた国際的・学際的(経済・地理・土木工学など)コンファレンスをロンドン経済大学のDuranton Venablesらと共同で開催し、集積の理論を中心とする研究討議を行い、空間経済学の基礎理論構築に努めた。
国内外の工学・経営・経済学研究者との学際的な共同研究により、産業集積の形成メカニズム、および、集積の空間分布に関する成果を得た。特に、集積を形成する企業へのアンケート調査をデザインし、日本の主要な産業集積を取り上げ、集積の動機と効果についての実証分析を行った。また、産業集積の分布解析に用いる実証分析手法の開発を行い、日本のデータに適用した。これらの手法は、現在、中国など東アジア地域を含めた国際地域経済における集積形成の分析への応用が図られている。(地域経済研究班)
3 複雑系経済システムにおける戦略的行動と相互依存性の研究を理論と実験の視点から統合し、体系化した。また、研究成果を産業経済と環境経済の問題に応用した、これらの研究は、政治学、社会心理学、生物学、数理工学などの他分野の研究者との学際的かつ国際的共同研究を中心に行われた。主な研究成果は、次のとおり。(1)組織の形成と進化のゲーム動学モデルを定式化し、多様な行動主体が存在する社会システムにおける協力と組織形成の長期均衡の安定性を解明した。(2)アムステルダム大学とチューリッヒ大学の研究者と共同で組織形成のゲーム実験を実施し、研究プロジェクトの理論成果と実験データの整合性を分析した。(3)地球環境対策に関わる国際的な協調枠組みの研究を総合し、研究成果に基づく政策提言とその効果を検討した。研究プロジェクトの成果により、ゲーム理論とその実験研究によって明らかにされた人間行動に関する新たな知見を組み入れた新しい経済理論を構築する基礎が確立された。(ゲーム研究班)
4 多変量時系列に対するノンパラメトリック・セミパラメトリックな仮説検定を統一的に扱える定式化を導出し、そのための検定統計量を提案した。この検定方法は特定のモデルに依存しないため、モデルの特定化の誤りに対し頑健であり、また帰無仮説の下での極限分布は正規分布になるので実用に供するのも容易である。応用範囲として、環境データのモデルとして頻繁に利用されている時間相関と空間相関が積の形で表現された乗法型時系列モデルの検定、各国のGDPデータなど異なった地域の同種の経済データが同一の自己相関構造を持つかあるいは独立な時系列データと見なしうるかなどの検定がある。(非線型計量分析班)
