Research Abstract

研究班1 荒廃地の二酸化炭素吸収能,砂地での森林再生,泥炭湿地二次林の現存量,酸性硫酸塩土壌地域のイネ収量の実態とその低収原因,水生作物マコモの導入,気球写真による樹木の樹高推定等に関する研究を行った。
研究班2 森林再生のための試験造林と育苗技術,造林技術の開発に関する研究を継続して行った。
研究班3 河川氾濫原の生産性の向上に向けた研究及び土壌侵食を抑えながら斜面での生産を確保できるシステムの開発を継続して行った。
研究班4 ムギ類,牧草等の耐塩・耐乾性品種の選抜が進行し,20haのコムギの普及栽培を開始した。飼料用ビ-トの塩類土壌耐性,塩分集積の抑制法,植物の耐塩性の強化,地下水涵養法等に関する研究を行った。
研究班5 丘陵地帯および中位段丘地帯における圃場の開設を終了した。丘陵地帯の土地利用変化に伴う土壌の化学性,生物性の変化の実態がほぼ解明され,中位段丘地帯における化学性、生物性の変化の調査に着手した。
研究班6 1)作物の環境ストレス耐性および低投入適応に関する育種学的・生理学的研究を,継続して行った。2)熱帯樹木での菌根の着生に関する検討を行った。またマメ科樹木及び非マメ科根粒着生樹木について,宿主特異性や共生菌の生態的,分子遺伝学的検討を行った。硫酸酸性土壌の根圏細菌の種構成を決定した。3)メラル-カ材の物理的,化学的性状の検討および木質材料・製紙用パルプの製造の可能性の検討等を行った。4)タイでの収量,土地利用変化等に関する調査を引き続き行った。アジアの広域的土地環境把握および各事例地域にの土地環境調査を行い、生物生産に関わる土地環境特性を抽出し,持続的土地利用システムのあり方を検討した。
これらの成果は1998年3月の研究成果報告会で報告された。また1997年10月に岡山大学と共催で国際シンポジウムを開催し,成果を広く一般に公開した。
