Research Abstract	インド及びスリランカで、野外調査、地質資料収集、研究情報収集、研究討論などを、研究分担者ら14人の派遣延べ322人日及び現地参加17人延べ273人日の合計延べ595人日により実施した。また、インドから研究協力者ら2名を合計延べ83人日間招聘した。これらの事業の結果、以下の成果を得た。 1.インド中央構造帯(CITZ)の中央部のサコーリ褶曲帯及びサウサー変動帯の模式的横断ルートを調査した。インド中央構造帯南縁のサコーリ帯は低変成度の変堆積岩類を主とし、南のバスタークラトンの北縁部を被覆する大陸縁辺堆積層である。一方サウサー帯は中〜高変成度の変堆積岩類を主とし、インド北楯状地のブンデルカンドクラトンの被覆層であるとの考えが最近示された。これらの2層群はCITZ中央部の南縁変動帯をなす。CITZ中央部の北縁にはマハコーシャル褶曲帯がある。この地質帯に関する研究は非常に少なく、よく判っていないところが多いが、CITZのテクトニクス解析には大変に重要な地帯である。今後重点的に調査研究する必要がある。 2.スリランカ南西部と中央部のグラニュライト地帯の地質調査を実施し、この地帯の超高温変成作用の様相が明らかとなった。また、地質資料の収集を行い、将来の分析的研究の準備が整った。 3.インド東部シンブムクラトンと東ガート帯の地質調査を実施した。シンブムクラトンでは花崗岩類の標本採集を行い、将来の分析的研究の準備を整えた。東ガート帯ではシース褶曲を詳しく観察し、そのテクトニクスな意義を東ガート帯の大構造との関係で考察した。 4.インド南部グラニュライト帯において野外調査を実施し、従来の研究で問題とされた含グラファイトグラニュライトの産状を詳しく調査した。これらの岩石の形成にはパンアフリカ期の剪断活動が密接に関係していることが明らかとなった。これらの岩石標本を系統的に採集し、将来の分析的研究の準備を整えた。 5.北部デリー帯の花崗岩体を中心に詳しい野外調査を実施し、岩質構成と岩石化学的性格を明らかにしつつある。また、EPMA化学年代の検討を開始し、予察的にメソ原生代の年代が得られた。 6.インドの若手研究者2名を招聘し、CITZに関する岩石学、年代学に関して分析を中心とした共同研究を実施した。CITZの基盤の塩基性岩から約30億年と23億年のSm-Nd全岩アイソクロン年代を得た。以上の野外調査、研究の成果は、国内外の学術雑誌や大学英文紀要など印刷中を含めて27編と、論文集2冊として公表された。
