| Research Abstract |
平成12年度の研究活動の概要は、次の通りである。
1、国外博物館等に所蔵されているアイヌ関係資料の総数は、ほぼ約1万3千点であることが判明した。そのうち、西欧・北米のアイヌ資料についての情報(文字情報)を整理した。また、西欧・北米のアイヌ資料の映像情報(スライド類)の整理も進め、電算機に入力できる状態になっている。
2、平成12年12月に、ボン大学において、国際シンポジウム『欧米のアイヌ・コレクション』を開催した。発表者は日本、ドイツ、イギリス、香港、スイス、アメリカ、ポーランドから参加し、合計20名が発表した。日本からは分担研究者、研究協力者をふくむ11名が参加・発表した。ロシアからの研究者はビサ取得の問題で不参加であり、代読による参加にとどまった。
3、上記の国際シンポジウム最終日にアイヌ研究の将来について打ち合わせ、その出発点として、国外アイヌ資料データベースの構築の必要性を再確認した。ただし、その折りに、資料の映像(写真)のデータベース化には、西欧各博物館から写真使用の許可を入手する必要があり、しかも、資料1点ずつにかなりの額の使用料を支払う必要があることが西欧からの参加者から指摘された。本研究計画の規模を考慮し、多額の費用を要する映像化計画は本計画の範囲外であり、映像化作業そのものは国による映像化プロジェクトに一任するのが適切と考えるに至った。
4、研究代表者の手許において、3カ年間の研究活動を総括する最終報告書の編集作業を行った。これまで収集してきた欧口米各博物館所蔵のアイヌ・コレクションに関する古記録類も整理し、可能な限り掲載した。
