Research Abstract |
This project aims to study changes of deep Earth materials and high pressure materials under high pressures.(1) Laser ablation mass spectometry has been developed to analyze trace and light elements in small area.(2) Properties of elemental carbon and related diamond materials have been studied for its industrial utilization as the hard material.(3) Nature of lithospheric mantle beneath the archean mantle has been investigated by using mantle zenolith and kimberlite magma as a prove.(4) High pressure phase transition in silicate minerals has been studied to clarify relationships between seismicity of the subduction zone and their transformation process. These studies have been made as a cooperative research with State University of New York at Stony Brook.
