Research Abstract	平成11年度は先ずトロムソ大学のC.Hallを招聘し、EISCATスバールバルレーダー(ESR)による極域中間圏・熱圏大気波動の共同解析、特に大気潮汐波の基本姿態、重力波・乱流等についての共同研究を行った。とくに1998年10月にトロムソ大学と共同で行ったESRレーダによる(アンテナビーム切替による)2方向の高度85kmまでの観測による風速データをもとにしたスペクトル解析から、高緯度域における重力波のエネルギー消散率についての知見を得、論文として出版した。さらに、1999年3月のESR観測データを含む高緯度中間圏風データから極域大気潮汐波の様相、特に一日周期成分の理論とのよい対応、半日周期成分のマイグレーティング潮汐からの乖離等興味ある結果を得た。又トロムソ大学と共同で進めている流星レーダー、MFレーダーなどの観測計画につき検討した。次いでトロムソ大学オーロラステーションのヘッドであるUNISのJ.Moenを招聘し、1999年3月にトロムソ大学始め諸機関と共同で行ったESR、地上光学観測及びFAST、GEOTAIL衛星のコンジャンクション観測によるオーロラサブストームイベントのデータ解析を共同で行った。プラズマシート/ポーラーキャップ境界域の電磁力学、特に強いオーロラアークと沿磁力線電流、電場の対応、アークの高緯度側でのVDIS構造など、サブストームメカニズム解明につながる知見を得た。また、EISCATや衛星と同期するオーロラトモグラフィ観測、トロムソ大学オーロラステーションにおけるオーロラスペクトログラフの新設によるEISCATと連携するオーロラ・夜光分光試験観測、HFレーダーとESRとの比較解析などが行われ、それぞれ有用な知見を得た。
