| Research Abstract |
地震・台風・ハリケーン・竜巻等の環境下における空間構造(シェル構造、スペースフレーム、膜構造等)の日米における研究状況をレビューし、静的及び動的挙動に関する共同研究を実施した。本研究課題は故半谷裕彦教授によって開始されたが、半谷教授の逝去後、宮崎助手が代表を引き継いで、川口助教授とともに継続している。当初、国際学術研究として開始されたが、昨年度より科学研究費基盤研究(B)(2)に組みこまれた。
本年度は、10月に韓国で第2回セミナーを開催した。このセミナーには川口健一助教授と宮崎明美助手、および、米国ワシントン大学のP.L.Gould教授、S.Sridharan教授および韓国成均館大学の権宅鎮教授が参加し、活発な意見交換が行われた。また、本研究成果は同時期韓国で開かれた空間構造の国際会議で発表され、活発な討論・協議が行われた。本年度は最終年度に当たるため、3年間の活動を総括し、報告書を作成した。
研究協力者であるGould教授、Sridharan教授の所属するワシントン大学工学部は、東京大学生産技術研究所と学術協定を締結しており、本科学研究費が採択されたことでこの3年間は空間構造物に関する2回のセミナーを含む情報交換及び共同研究を活発に行った。また、お互いに研究者が交流することで、ワシントン大学工学部と東京大学生産技術研究所の相互理解が深まり、大変有益な活動であった。今後も空間構造工学を中心とした工学分野で、活発な学術交流を続けることを約束しあっている。
