Research Abstract |
Large quantity of agricultural and marine products were harvested in Thailand according to the hot climates. Some of the harvested products were, nevertheless, discarded owing to the deterioration. So, the postharvest studies, so-called high quality maintenance studies are necessary. This study is composed of two projects. 1. In the field of horticulture (for example flowers), how to keep the flowers fresh? In this study, Prof.Yoshida, Prof.Yoneyama and Assoc.Prof.Yamane discussed with Prof.Saichol Ketsa in Kasetsart University. 2. In the field of marine products (for example shrimp), how to select the strong strains? In this study, Prof.Yanagisawa, Prof.Kanno and Assoc.Prof.Okino discussed with Doctor Somvong Tragoonrung in Kasetsart University. In these three years, we visited Bangkok (3 times), Chiang Mai (once) and Phuket (once) Two foreign scientists visited Utsunomiya University 3 times. We were able to discussed many valuable postharvest sciences of agricultural and marine products in Thailand and get more friendly with each other.
