大型計算機シミュレーションによる星・惑星系の形成過程の理論的研究

Research Abstract

近年の観測技術の進歩によって星の形成過程や惑星系の母体である原始惑星系円盤の物理が、構造論的にも進化論的にも観測的に明らかとなっている。それらの構造や進化の観測的事象から、総括的及び普遍的な星・惑星系の形成論の構築に至るためには、基礎物理学の蓄積に基づいた理論的現象の把握が極めて重要となる。この点で、基礎理論を踏まえた数値シミュレーションの実行は、観測との直接比較検討を可能にする上でも、また天体現象を実験的に把握する上でも、現象の理論的解析に極めて有効である。計画研究の2年度として以下の成果が得られた。
1.回転並びに磁場の効果を考慮した2次元及び3次元の計算機シミュレーションを実行して、星形成過程を解析した。その結果、星の角運動量の起源、動的に収縮する分子雲コアがバー不安定、連鎖的星形成、低密度ガスの熱的不安定性、分子雲の内部速度構造の起源を明らかにした。
2.磁気流体計算の実行によって、星の磁気構造などの解析を進め、局所的な磁気圧優勢領域の形成、磁気ループの浮上と円盤コロナの形成、1/fノイズ的時間変動などを示した。
3.輻射輸送過程を解析し、形成期の原始星と非常に若いT Tauri型星の状態、および形成中の原始惑星系円盤への質量降着ショックについての解析を進めた。
4.質量降着の非常に大きい原始星の進化を調べ、原始星の半径は最大でも太陽半径の50倍程度にしかならないことを示した。
5.ガスが自己重力不安定である矮小銀河における分子雲の形成と進化の数値シミュレーションを行い、観測によく対応する分子雲の分布や質量関数が得られることがわかった。
